July 31 Bidders Conference for
2018 Drug Free Community Fund Grants

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Drug Free Marion County is hosting a July 31 Bidders Conference for those organizations wishing to apply for a 2017 grant from the Marion County Drug Free Community Fund. Approximately $315,000 in grant dollars from the fund are available for services and programs to address problems related to alcohol and other drugs in Marion County.

The Bidders’ Conference will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at the Marion County Public Health Department, 3838 N. Rural Street, in the first floor conference room. The conference agenda will cover the grant application and review process — including a detailed walk-through for completing and filing applications — and the role played by Drug Free Marion County. Packets of instructions and necessary forms also will be available. NOTE: 2017 applications will not be available online until Monday, July 31, 2017.

The application deadline is Monday, August 21, 2017. All proposals are due no later than 5 p.m. on that date. Applications will be filed online. Instructions for filing are included with the grant packet.

Proposal requests must be for services for Marion County residents and must address one of the Objectives contained in the Comprehensive Community Plan (a listing of these Objectives will be included with the application packet). Grants will be allotted to projects in three areas: Prevention/Education, Treatment/Intervention and Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement. Collaboration with other providers/organizations and an indication of other funding sources are strongly encouraged. The Board of Directors of Drug Free Marion County will review the proposals and make recommendations for grants from the fund.

Drug Free Community Fund dollars are comprised of alcohol and other drug offender fees collected in Marion County. Grants will be for a one-year period and will be effective from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018.

Drug Free Marion County advocates for a healthier, safer Marion County through prevention and education to reduce substance abuse among youth and adults.
